Max Renton
, BScMax studied BSc Animal Biology, during which he undertook an internship and research project in South Africa to investigate the influence of environmental parameters on a population of great white sharks in Mossel Bay. He has since undertaken an internship at Defa, Isle of Man, where he produced a report on their coordinated environmental monitoring programme for hazardous substances in Manx coastal waters. Max is a Coastal and Marine Ecologist supporting Adonis Blue’s coastal and marine portfolio, to achieve the aims of the marine strategy: with a focus on biodiversity net gain, blue carbon and restoring coastal habitats. Max also supports the Wildlife Trust's citizen science initiatives and runs the Shoresearch programme.
Prior to this role, Max undertook the Coast Explorer Internship, which was offered by Adonis, The Crown Estate, Vattenfall and Canterbury City Council; his main project was Kent's Inshore Fisheries Project. The project’s aim was to build an understanding of the inshore fisheries around Kent, to give an insight of how best to work closer with the fishers to benefit both the marine environment and the fisheries.
